Elizabeth is an extremely ethnically-diverse city. The people who call Elizabeth home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. People of Hispanic or Latino origin are the most prevalent group in Elizabeth, accounting for 61% of the city’s residents. This map shows the rich ethnic character of the areas of the city, revealing opportunities to leverage the cultural capital of the city to attract visitors and to celebrate its residents.

Imagined site narratives are used to illustrate how a person would experience the strategic and adaptive design insertions into the existing urban fabric. Profiles of the ‘average’ visitor/resident are created based on site research for each community node.
